Photographer Alvin Langdon Coburn's innovative success is inspirational. He embraced photography at the age of eight and continued on a path of unique creativity. Around 1916 when he was 34 years old, Coburn discovered the Vorticism movement and contributed to it with his vortographs. The photographs in this portfolio are in response to Coburn's brief moment as a vorticist. I fabricated a vortoscope out of three mirrors and used the winter landscape of Maine as my subject to create these vortographs.
